Day 2... Water truck day! We loaded up into our Tap Tap (an open type truck in which we travel to and from) to start our day. We headed to an area where the water trucks are filled and waited for our truck. Off to Cite Soleil to deliver fresh water to various areas in need. Crazy to think that filling one water truck costs only $12 to fill. I think we've all spent $12 on crazy dumb things and to think you could fill an entire water truck and deliver it to those truly need it. This is true organized chaos... The water truck and tap tap pull into an area, kids running with empty buckets yelling hey you.... Lots of hard work today done by all... From holding the hose to fill the buckets, managing the bucket line, moving the filled buckets to the side, carrying buckets and sometimes large trash cans filled with water and of course holding kids sometimes multiple kids at a time. Playing, hugging, holding and of course LOVING God's children. One of the coolest experiences seen as well was standing in the school and church - Hope Church that was built in Cite Soleil on mounds of garbage. The same garbage that some of us second timers had stood on & prayed a few years back.
